Made in the USA, Berberine Enhanced Absorption is the berberine antioxidant supplement formulated for improved GI absorption and bioavailability, supporting hormonal function and encouraging healthy blood sugar, insulin levels, lipid metabolism, and body composition. Berberine is a naturally occurring alkaloid found in many plants, including the barberry plant (Berberis vulgaris) from whence the common name derives.

Standard (unenhanced) berberine extract tends to self-aggregate, forming large (high molecular weight) particles which are difficult to absorb. Thus, excessively large doses of unenhanced berberine are required to overcome the naturally poor absorption of raw berberine extract. A phytosome is a complex of phytonutrients (botanicals like berberine) and phospholipids, allowing enhanced delivery of an active botanical ingredient to a metabolic target within the body, thereby increasing absorption and bioavailability of the active ingredient.
