Made in the USA, Berberine Enhanced Absorption is the berberine antioxidant supplement formulated for improved GI absorption and bioavailability, supporting hormonal function and encouraging healthy blood sugar, insulin levels, lipid metabolism, and body composition.  Berberine is a naturally occurring alkaloid found in many plants, including the barberry plant (Berberis vulgaris) from whence the common name derives.

Standard (unenhanced) berberine extract tends to self-aggregate, forming large (high molecular weight) particles which are difficult to absorb.  Thus, excessively large doses of unenhanced berberine are required to overcome the naturally poor absorption of raw berberine extract.  Unfortunately, such large doses of berberine can lead to gastrointestinal side effects.

Fortunately, Theralogix' Berberine Enhanced Absorption is designed to overcome this absorption problem using the botanical science of the Indena Phytosome™.  A phytosome is a complex of phytonutrients (botanicals like berberine) and phospholipids, allowing enhanced delivery of an active botanical ingredient to a metabolic target within the body, thereby increasing absorption and bioavailability of the active ingredient.

Indena (of Milan, Italy) was first to develop phytosome technology, leading the way for today’s growing use of phytosomes, improving delivery of phytonutrients, nutraceuticals and even pharmaceuticals.  By combining naturally occurring raw berberine extract within a phospholipid complex using proprietary Indena Phytosome™ technology, up to 10 times greater bioavailability may be achieved.  Efficient delivery of the phytonutrients provides for a greater percentage of active ingredient to be transported to metabolic target sites, allowing consumers to enjoy all of the benefits of a botanical phytonutrient (like berberine), potentially with fewer side effects.  As with most nutritional supplements, additional clinical trials are essential to confirm the widely reported benefits and safety.

Alternative berberine supplements have commonly made claims of dosage content proven to be inaccurate when directly tested.  However, Berberine Enhanced Absorption users may be confident that the dose described on the Theralogix label is accurate as certified.  Berberine Enhanced Absorption is the only berberine supplement independently tested and certified by NSF®International.

When starting new medications or supplements, always check with your pharmacist about possible medication-supplement interactions.  Because berberine may help lower blood sugar, monitoring blood sugar under the care of a physician is important for certain individuals.  Consult your doctor, especially if using berberine in combination with medications or supplements known to lower blood sugar.  Also, read the FAQ information associated with this supplement and consider taking advantage of a free consultation with a registered Theralogix dietitian.
